You can’t underestimate the importance of knowledge

One of our primary goals is to spread best practice and awareness about the risk of UXO, and to make sure that ground operatives who may come into unexpected contact with items of ordnance – are given the tools and knowledge to understand the risks involved and act safely.

We can provide various training solutions for your project, from on-site Safety & Awareness Briefings to the production of a Site Specific Safety Package (SSSP).

We have a strong belief in sharing our knowledge and also offer free of charge corporate seminars, presentations and online webinars – contact us for more information and to discuss your requirements.

What are the benefits of a UXO Safety & Awareness Briefing?

We can provide all new ground personnel with a Safety & Awareness Briefing which is an essential part of any UXO Risk Mitigation Strategy.

  • We clearly explain the nature and type of risk assessed based on research
  • We show you what risks to look out for
  • We explain what to do if a suspect item is encountered
  • We offer a basic overview and instructions in ordnance explosive recognition

What are the benefits of a Site Specific Safety Package (SSSP)?

We recommend that all personnel involved in intrusive ground work projects should attend a UXO Safety & Awareness Briefing before starting operations.

In the first instance this should be delivered by a qualified UXO Specialist, and for longer term projects where it may not be a requirement for UXO Support to be present all times, a SSSP can be commissioned to allow a contractors representative to deliver the briefings.

  • We cover the common physical characteristics of UXO
  • The effect that intrusive groundworks might have on the different varieties of UXO
  • The actions to take in the event of a suspected UXO discovery
  • How to deliver a UXO Safety & Awareness Briefing
  • How to manage UXO risk

On completion, the UXO Specialist will provide a briefing pack in both hard copy and electronic format. The pack includes information about identifying and reporting suspicious discoveries, with pictures to assist with UXO recognition and posters which can be displayed on-site.
