We are proud to announce that 1st Line Defence has been recertified with the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award, recognising our ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community and Defence personnel across the UK.
The ERS, which launched in 2014, celebrates employers who actively uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. In 2025, more than 300 organisations were recognised for their support and for promoting the value that Armed Forces personnel bring to civilian industries.
Achieving the Silver Award requires employers to go beyond pledges. Organisations must demonstrate tangible support through employment practices, robust HR policies – and the active promotion of Defence values within their workforce.
At 1st Line Defence, many members of our Ground & Field Staff have transitioned directly from the Armed Forces into civilian roles within the UXO risk mitigation sector. Their experience operating in high-risk environments brings exceptional discipline, risk awareness and safety-critical decision-making skills that are directly transferable to construction and infrastructure projects.
