Earlier this year, the 1st Line Defence team embarked on a mission to identify which charity we would collectively like to support as a business.

The Business Management team did some research and decided to support Marie Curie, which have community fundraisers based in Hertfordshire.

Marie Curie have been operating for 75 years and their main aim is to help provide a better end of life for more people, whatever the illness.

Below is a snapshot of just some of the good work that Marie Curie do and ways that you too can help and support them to achieve their goals.

  • Hospice care at home – Nurses, healthcare assistants and specialists bring nursing care and emotional support to those needed, in the comfort of your home.
  • Marie Curie operate hospices throughout the UK, from Belfast to the west Midlands. These are free of charge for anyone affected and their families.
  • Companion volunteers provide the emotional and pre4ctical support you need – at home, in hospital or over the phone.
  • Marie Curie offer a free support helpline number, email advice and a live chat service.

How can we help?

Marie Curie are currently running their ‘Great Daffodil Appeal’, this appeal runs from February to April and you will find volunteers collecting in most major supermarkets.
