Our assessments are produced by graduate researchers and UXO specialists and are entirely bespoke to your project to CIRIA C681 guidelines. Each assessment makes use of our extensive historical archives, library, internet resources and unique UXO geo-databases which include datasets not available in the public domain. In order to meet tight client deadlines, the Express reports are sent out within 1 day of ordering.

1st Line Defence can also provide detailed threat assessments, also to CIRIA C681 guidelines, of the potential Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and Unexploded Bomb (UXB) risk, specific to your site location.

We can also recommend unbiased and appropriate UXO mitigation measures as well  as providing consultation on emergency response planning.


  • Provides specific site information and recommends measures to mitigate the risk
  • Can prevent unnecessary risk mitigation if the Risk Assessment shows the likelihood of encountering UXO can be ruled out or isolated to a specific area of the site i.e. risk zoning the site
